What is a Canvas Print?

A canvas print is a digital image that has been carefully color corrected and printed on fine art canvas paper, similar to what is used on paintings. The result is stunning: a hybrid mix between a digital image and a vibrant painting.

Each print is professionally printed on specialty museum fine art canvas rag, and then carefully sealed with a profesional UV coating; a process which prevents the canvas from cracking, gives is a lustre shine, and protects the image against fading for life.
What is a Gallery Wrap?

A gallery wrap is a canvas print that has been hand-stretched around a custom made internal wooden frame.  This delicate frameless process creates what is known as a Fine Art Gallery Wrapped Canvas Print.

Why Are Gallery Wrapped Canvas Prints Superior to Regular Prints?
Gallery wrapped canvas prints are superior to a framed picture for several reasons; with a canvas, there is never any glare - the more light that hits them, the brighter they appear.  Further, they are much lighter in weight compared to a heavy glass-framed print.  Overall, it's just a much higher quality medium for showcasing a stunning image.

What makes them "Epic"?

Thanks to the Canon 5D Mark II, the resolution contained in each image is striking, with more details noticeable as the size of each piece increases.  At the same time, the fine art canvas paper creates a "painting" effect, resulting in a hybrid between a digital image and a piece of stunning painted artwork that is best described by the word epic. (Read some Customer Reviews for an example.)
What Sort of Frame Options Are There?
The canvas print is stretched tight around either a Thick Wrap 1.5”or Thin Wrap 3/4" internal wood frame, which creates a unique 'coming-out-of-the-wall' effect, similar to most pieces of art you will see in a museum or art gallery (hence the name 'gallery wrap'.)  Thin Wraps are only available in smaller sizes; Thick Wraps are available in any size.

The difference between a Thin Wrap (3/4") and Thick Wrap (1.5")
This refers to the thickness of the wooden beams used to stretch your canvas on.  While thick-wrapped 1.5" prints generally look best for larger sizes, the thin wrap offers an equally beautiful solution at a slightly lower price.

Further, I can offer Color Wraps, which means the sides of the canvas can be black, white, or any color.
There is no charge for this; just place a note in the Cart when checking out if you would prefer this.

Also, if you're looking for a frame for your canvas piece, I can offer a black, white, or espresso "Floating Frame."
Cost is between $50-150 extra depending on the size of the piece.

Are there any special mounting instructions I should follow when hanging my piece?

All prints under 60" come included with a beehive hanger (pictured below). All you have to do is screw it into the back of the canvas with the attached self-threading screws, pound a nail in the wall, and hang your new piece.

Prints over 60" (and some smaller than 60") come with a new wireless hanging system.
See the below video for how it works:

Can I hang my artwork outside?

Although our pieces have a UV limiting lamination on them, no artwork should ever be hung in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time. Additionally, while we use a water-resistant coating it is not 100% waterproof.

Can I hang my artwork in a bathroom or humid area?

Because canvas is a natural product that will shrink and swell due to significant changes in temperature or humidity, it should not be hung in a bathroom or directly over a heat source.

How do I clean/maintain my canvas?

The best way to clean the canvas is with a soft duster. You can also use a damp cloth on the face of the canvas.

How long will it take for my canvas to arrive?

For each order, the image is carefully edited and prepared for print.  Once printed, the canvases are specially coated with a UV protectant layer which has to hang for 2 days before being carefully stretched around the custom made wooden frame. As such, all orders usually take about 10-14 business days to arrive; in  extreme cases, it can be up to three weeks. (You will receive email notifications with your Fedex Tracking # as soon as your canvas ships.)

What if I Need it Faster?

Rush shipping is available at an additional $40 (per piece) and will guarantee your canvas within one week.

Who Took These Pictures?

Every image you'll find here on was shot by David Huting, unless otherwise stated.  Each image was also carefully edited at full resolution by Dave, ensuring a final image that is bursting with color and detail. Click here to learn more about the artist.
How much resolution is in each picture?

Thanks to the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, the resolution of each image is amazing - each picture contains immaculate details.  At the same time, the canvas material offers a "painterly" effect, creating a hybrid between a digital picture and a piece of stunning painted artwork that is best described by the word EPIC.  Click here for more information about the images.
